I am remiss in not extending my availability for teaching in March sooner, too many multi-tasks tasking at the same time!! March Mixed Media Schedule is posted at the bottom of email.
So many good connections happening in the art world here in Calgary. I have been getting my BRAVE badge on and attending Rumble House on Wednesday nights.

As some of you may already know, I have received a two week art residency in Saskatchewan from March 16 - 31. The residency is at the Wallace Stegner House located in Eastend, Saskatchewan. I came to this wonderful opportunity by way of my artist aunt Edie Marshall - check out her work here. Edie was granted a residency at the Stegner home last summer and my husband and I made the trek to visit. While there, we experienced the beautiful landscapes of this unique terrain (Cypress Hills territory and White Mud Clay hills), and visited the diverse artists who reside in this area. Needless to say, I fell in love, again, with Saskatchewan's many gifts. To say I feel honoured, privileged and ecstatic for this opportunity is an understatement.
6 Classes for $180.00
Startup supply costs are approximately $60… CSA has the best value for supplies in town, shop with me and it’s priceless!
Develop your creative self further in this Mixed Media Class; any experience is welcome. In this class, you will learn to combine realism, texture, and whimsy. Paula Timm will demonstrate her innovative techniques using beeswax, markers, acrylic paint, acrylic mediums, gels, pencil crayon, markers, torn paper/found image techniques.
*Regular Class Schedule (every monday eve & thurs. morn) will resume on Monday April 6th
This night is about inclusive art and pushing your creative boundaries. The artist is given a random topic to use as a platform for creation, two hours to create with many others, music, connection, and releasing your art to the hungry buyers in a live auction at 9pm. There are guidelines but no rules - you don’t have to sell or participate, being there is a great first step - and kids are welcome to participate.
BTW, the painting of Rumble House (seen above) was created by half of the brains behind Rumble, Rich Theroux —whom also recently completed a TEDx talk.
I have signed on with Fostermak.com, a lovely Calgarian with a dream of showcasing artists and having a gallery…Stacey Walyuchow has brought her vision to fruition in an online gallery. My first group show with her is just around the corner, March 14th and 15th at Fort Calgary, 11-5pm.
In addition to showing our work, the artists are donating one piece (up to 20 pieces in total) for silent auction where half of all proceeds will be donated to the Alberta Children's Hospital! Keep on all the future events on the Facebook Fostermak page.

Who is Wallace Stegner?
Wallace Stegner From Wiki…."(February 18, 1909 – April 13, 1993) was an American historian, novelist, short story writer, and environmentalist, often called "The Dean of Western Writers”. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1972 and the U.S. National Book Award in 1977."
The Following from the Stegner Historical website…
"This is the house that Wallace Stegner lived in from age 7 to 12. The community and geography made an indelible impression upon him and was the inspiration for much of his writing.
The one and half storey house was built on this site in 1917 by Wallace Stegner's father and the family lived here until 1921 when they moved to Montana.
In 1990, the house was restored by the Eastend Arts Council and established as a Residence for Artists."
